Behavior of materials and surfaces under extreme conditions
Our platform consists of a set of platforms dedicated to the characterization of materials, structures and surfaces under extreme conditions of temperature, loading and deformation rate and for various materials (metallic, polymers, composites, organic)
.General presentation
In particular, it enables the study of surface characteristics (topology, mechanical properties, microstructure etc.) at different scales through its Morphomeca platform, the tribological behavior of these surfaces with the Tribex platform, the behavior of materials at temperature (Stam) and at high strain rates (Plateforme Dynamique Rapide) and finally the behavior of polymeric and biological materials on the SoftMat platform.
This platform enables us to cover a very wide range of materials/surfaces at different scales (microscopic to macroscopic) with specific equipment (Nano indentation, SEM, interferometer, tribometer, microtomograph, Hopkinsons bars, ultra-fast camera, fast infrared thermography,.....) and by associating the skills of experts to it.
This platform is consequently widely associated with research activities whether academic or industrial.
This plateau continues to develop through the RITMEA project co-financed under the contrat de plan État Région (CPER 2021-2027) and the PO Féder. (2021 - 2027).
