Actions d'Initiatives Régionales pour la Recherche - Pedagogical Control of Driving Tasks by Automated Systems
This project seeks to develop the pedagogical capabilities of automated systems in the context of performing driving tasks.
Two systems are being developed : a safe and punctual eco-driving system and a head-on collision avoidance system. These systems enable a train to be driven autonomously, and are implemented using different active teaching modes: incentive mode, adaptive mode, subliminal mode and retroactive mode. They are implemented using the MissRailÒ platform on a train driving module. The results of the project will be used to offer a new distance learning module in the INERSYG (Railway Engineering and Guided Systems) Continuing Education course of the Transport Mobility Networks Master's degree at Valenciennes University. In terms of research, this same module will enable the implementation of tests to validate models of vehicle behavior and models of man-machine cooperation and learning. Finally, a start-up project is being studied in collaboration with Transalley.

Example of driving incentive mode with automatic obstacle detection (i.e., a mom with her baby in a stroller crossing the lane)

Example of retroactive mode in the face of a potentially dangerous situation (i.e., potential collision between a vehicle and a streetcar)
