Computer Science
The uniqueness of the Computer Science department is that it has the skills necessary for a comprehensive approach.
Presentation
The originality of the Computer Science department is to have the necessary skills in a global approach : at the computational level (optimization and simulation), software architecture (distributed vs. centralized) and hardware (embedded systems) or in relation to humans (human-computer interaction, knowledge modeling, decision support).
In this approach, artificial intelligence is present in terms of scientific contributions (multi-agent systems, distributed constraint resolution, privacy) or use (deep learning, neural networks...).
A department under 2 themes
The department is articulated in two themes : optimization and Mobility (OptiMob) and Interaction and Agent (InterA).
1) At the level of designing hybrid approaches combining exact methods, metaheuristics and simulation methods to improve performance in terms of solution quality and robustness.
2) At the level of design of efficient and secure embedded and mobile systems, for the implementation of new approaches in the adaptability of embedded and mobile systems according to the application requirements at the hardware, software and communication means levels.
1) At the level of designing coordination, reasoning and knowledge models to build systems adaptable to different situations
2) At the level of interaction with users, studied in an original way through tangible, implicit and multimodal modes of interaction.
The department's application fields
" Intelligent Transportation Systems " and " Health " are the 2 major application areas of the department.
These application fields are part of the ecosystem where the Computer Science department is positioned:
- The CNRS International Research Project (IRP) in " Operational Research and Informatics in Transport, Mobilitý and Logistics " (ROI-TML) with the CIRRELT Montreal Canada,
- La Fédération de Recherche Transports Terrestres & Mobilité (TTM - FR CNRS 3733),
- The CPER project RITMEA: Research and Innovation in Eco-responsible and Autonomous Transport and Mobilitý and
- the IRT Railenium.
