Cyber-Security in COmmUnicant systems for Transport

The increase in the number of accidents on the roads, the extent of their severity, natural disasters and terrorist acts in transport are serious events that endanger a very large number of transport users as well as pedestrians.

.

These emergency and crisis situations require a rapid response including the enlistment of professional personnel, specialized equipment, material and technical resources, rarely available on hand. As part of this Gestion des Situations d'Urgences et de Crises (GSUC), the SECOURT project focuses on the rapid, automatic detection of road accidents and the growing need to communicate information rapidly between vehicles and with the infrastructure. It also focuses on securing these communications so that they are not intentionally attacked or disrupted, and thus rendered inoperable at the time of crisis. Cyber-security for communicating means of transport is therefore addressed in order to increase the security and reliability of information processing and communication systems in the GSUC and to develop new resilient vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications tools.

The SECOURT project is organized into 3 axes which develop independent work to then lead to an integration of all developments into a common demonstration. For the moment, results are presented by axis:

.

  1. WP1. Development of efficient embedded system architectures for image processing at GSUC
  2. WP2. Fast, cost-effective V2V communication for GSUC
  3. WP3. CYBER SECURITY: protecting communications and information during GSUC
