Objectives, activities and benefits
The themes to be studied as part of this Chair are relevant to building sustainable, resilient logistics that are best suited to the needs of our region. They raise scientific and technical issues that require analysis and research at a high level of expertise and an increase in skills that justifies recourse to international collaboration.
Objectives
The main objectives of the proposed chair are:
- Sustainable and resilient Supply Chain design .
- Exploitation of new technologies (Drones, IoT, 3D, IP, 4.0 ...)
- Impelling applied research and training in the field of logistics
- Creating links with existing logistics platforms: Seine-Nord Canal / E-Valley / Delta 3 / Multimodal transport (river, road, etc.)
- Implementing the Circular Economy (Recycling, serving the region's industries, ...)
- Create synergy with our partners in the region (public and private) to better identify the region's issues and challenges and, also, to validate the solutions developed as part of this project.
Activities
In order to meet these objectives, we will develop:
.- Specifications for tomorrow's logistics network
- Tailor-made optimization algorithms
- Solutions for integrating Blockchain technology
- Simulation models
- Control and decision-support tools
- Defining winning strategies to meet the challenges of :
- Sustainability (balancing economic / ecological / social performance)
- Resilience (Economic strength / Independence / Adaptability / Robustness)
- Practical quality training based on the latest findings.
All of this will help to replace the existing linear economy, which is coming to an end, with the circular economy, and will enable more resilient and sustainable systems, which is very important, especially these days when crises can be very sudden.
