ELSAT2020 - OS 2 - HYBRID
CPER ELSAT2020 - OS 2 - Project 1: Hybrid approaches to logistics, transport and mobility.
This project focuses on the optimization of operations to be carried out within multimodal platforms (resource management and scheduling in particular) within the more general framework of optimizing the logistics chain integrating multimodal transport.
.In this case, it is necessary to make the best use of several modes of transport, which requires highly efficient intermodal synchronization to guarantee a sufficient level of service. This problem encompasses numerous optimization issues at strategic, tactical and operational levels. In particular, this project deals with problems encountered at the operational level: based on data from the strategic and tactical levels (in particular the location of platforms and depots, the capacity of each depot, the volume of incoming and outgoing flows), we need to answer the following questions how best to allocate and manage the resources available in each depot, and how to define the planning of the latter so that each multimodal platform has a regular and guaranteed mode of operation. To answer these questions, we will be looking at the hybridization of methods from mathematical programming and techniques from metaheuristics. Our work covers both theoretical and methodological aspects, so as to enable the emergence of new, efficient solution methods for tackling difficult and (very) large optimization problems.
