FLUIDAPART Développement et validation expérimentale de modèles numériques de transport particulaire

FLUIDAPART

Development and experimental validation of numerical particle transport models.

This project focuses on the development and experimental validation of numerical models capable of representing complex flows of fluids loaded with fine particles.

.

The spin-offs of this project concern in particular the health effects linked to air pollution and the public health issues associated with it. The aim of this project is to determine the most suitable modeling approaches depending on the nature of the flow and its particle loading. The models developed will be sufficiently generic to be applied in several fields, in particular combustion and rail transport, which present different operating conditions in terms of particle size, type, concentration and nature of flow. The models set up will be validated on various experimental devices based on velocimetry-type measurements and fine particle emission : an instrumented biomass boiler with optical access and stack tapping, and a braking bench to reproduce the frictional contact between train disc and pad.
