ETHICS40
Ethical risk management in the Industry of the Future
The use of modern technologies in industrial systems is expanding in view of the technical specificities they enable, the data traceability they offer, and the relief for human operators, from tedious or repetitive tasks, that they make possible.
The industrial systems of the future are characterized by autonomy and a profusion of data that can lead to poorly controlled decisions, inducing ethical dilemmas. The ETHICS40 project focuses on the management of these ethical issues, and aims, in partnership with bearing manufacturer NTN-SNR, to develop a tool called ETHICS4IF (Ethical Risk Assessment and Management for Industry of the Future), enabling the identification and integration of ethical risks into the management and improvement of industrial performance. ETHICS40 responds to a major need of manufacturers migrating towards the Factory of the Future. It will provide the scientific community with a tool to help make ethics operational in industrial engineering.
