This exhibition of six paintings explores the fractures of identity through matter, tar and light.
Bodies, faces and landscapes become witnesses to an inner exile - a crossing between the memory of the place of origin and the tension of the present. The tar embodies the density of the past, while the acrylic opens up a space for breathing and rebirth.
Through this approach, Matsanga Ronyd invites the viewer on a sensitive journey where memory and matter dialogue to reveal the intimate and the universal.
Free admission.

Portrait of Matsanga Ronyd
Matsanga Ronyd is a Cuban-born artist whose career is rooted between Havana and Europe. A painter and sculptor, he is developing a singular body of work where matter, memory and emotion meet. Trained at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, where he obtained a Master's degree in Art and Artistic Management in 2021, he nourishes his practice with a profound reflection on matter, society and transmission.
An approach between matter, color and living memory
Driven by instinctive creativity and a resolutely innovative spirit, he transforms raw concepts into powerful, vibrant works. His ability to evolve in a variety of cultural contexts inspires an artistic language that blends intensity, density and light.
His work revolves mainly around two flagship materials: tar and acrylic. The former, a material of truth, carries a social and memorial charge that it shapes and renders poetic despite its harshness. The second, more fluid and luminous, translates sensitivity, emotions and contemporary breaths. This tension gives rise to inhabited works, rooted in the earth and pierced by light.
In her canvases, matter becomes language: tar tells, acrylic reveals. Each gesture is free, spontaneous, guided by the need to bear witness rather than to please. Her world, marked by Expressionism, carries the accent of the Caribbean - a warm, lively vibration, where texture becomes music and color, breath.
