[Back to] Director Isabelle Broué and subtitling
It was with great pleasure that the students of the Master's degree in Translation Studies welcomed director Isabelle Broué.
Film director Isabelle Broué returned once again this year to speak to the Master of Translation course on Tuesday, October 10, to discuss her film Lutine and its subtitling with the students. The problems involved in translating a film from one language to another are complex, and also depend on concepts and cultural facts: how do you subtitle a film with all these constraints? Over the course of three hours, the students discussed various aspects of translation with Ms. Broué and other teachers, using very specific examples. This exchange was much appreciated by students and teachers alike!
