Fractured identity, between memory and matter

From November 25 to December 19, Matsanga Ronyd, a Cuban-French artist and well-known artistic figure in the Valenciennes region, will be exhibiting his work as part of the "Identity in Exile" exhibition at Galerie Matisse (BAT).

A former student at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, Matsanga Ronyd is a very active artist in the region.
He regularly presents a selection of his work at exhibition venues throughout the region.

Matsanga Ronyd is a very active artist in the region.

This exhibition explores the fractures of identity through matter, tar and light.
Bodies, faces and landscapes become witnesses to an inner exile - a crossing between the memory of the place of origin and the tension of the present. The tar embodies the density of the past, while the acrylic opens up a space for breathing and rebirth.

Through this approach, Matsanga Ronyd invites the viewer on a sensitive journey where memory and matter dialogue to reveal the intimate and the universal.

Free admission.

Exhibition visible during building opening hours.
