Curatorial Studies Master's students at MusVerre
On Tuesday, October 24, 2022, students in Master 1 and 2 Curatorial Studies visited the MusVerre de Sars-Poteries.
A dynamic partnership
They discovered the historical and heritage collections (the " bousillés ") that led to the creation of the museum, the contemporary permanent collections, as well as the temporary exhibition Mémoire vive, a retrospective of glass artist Michèle Perozeni.
They discovered the outdoor sculpture park and the architecture of the museum, a monumental bluestone building embracing the surrounding bocage landscape.

Accompanied by their teachers (Stefania Caliandro, Olga Lemagnen, Christian Hanquet, Henri Duhamel), this visit by Master Études Curatoriales aims to refine their knowledge of the regional institutional fabric and to serve the implementation of professional and curatorial projects within their curriculum and this in a partnership dynamic.
An exhibition project in February 2024
As part of the Poetics and Scenography seminar (S. Caliandro), Master 1 students will curate an exhibition to be held in February 2024, for which they will borrow works from the collections of the MusVerre, the artothèque of the CRP in Douchy-les-Mines and the FRAC Grand Large (Dunkirk).
In the Museum Architecture module (O. Lemagnen), Master 2 students will research and analyze the following emblematic regional architectures: the MusVerre, the Palais de l'Art Contemporain in Paris and the FRAC Grand Large (Dunkirk).
In the Museum Architecture module (O. Lemagnen), Master 2 students will research and analyze the following emblematic regional architectures: the MusVerre, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, the LaM in Villeneuve d'Ascq, the Grand Hornu in Belgium and La Piscine in Roubaix.
In addition, this visit aims to provide students with an insight into the architecture of museums in France.
In addition, this visit aims to sharpen their critical and artistic eye on the museographic and institutional issues addressed in the Sustainable Museology and Corporate Context (C. Hanquet) and Museo-Poetics (H. Duhamel) modules. For Master 2 students, all this will provide food for thought on the spatialization of works in anticipation of their exhibition project around the cabaret of curiosities, which will unfold in March 2024 in the Phénix hall, the B.U. des Tertiales and the Centre d'Arts Ronzier.
