Social sciences on a plate
The Research Workshop in Theatre and Societies organized and moderated by Yann Calbérac (University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne) and Irene Sartoretti (Polytechnic University Hauts-de-France) will take place on January 16 and 17, 2023 at Le Boulon, Centre National des Arts de la Rue et de l'Espace Public.
Take groups that academic tradition has kept apart: artists and performing arts and social scientists. Take a venue that is welcoming and conducive to exchange and discussion - the Boulon, national center for street arts and public space - and make it a stage for dialogue and exchange. Give them the necessary time - 2 days (January 16 and 17) - for these groups to meet, get to know each other, exchange and perhaps build. Take seriously the fact that these groups are creating, be it artistic or scientific, and let them invent. Give them the freedom to go against the cutouts that have boxed them in (to the artists art and beauty, to the scientists truth) and wait to see how the lines can be redistributed.
At the key, a new way to mobilize the performing arts to do science, and a new way to question society!
