Mining resources" study day
Organized with the support of the LARSH transversal pole
The aim of this half-day study session is to examine the notion of mining resources in time and space, using local and international examples.
At a regional level, the coal mining resource will be interrogated through the example of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Mining Basin, from the origins of exploitation to UNESCO World Heritage listing, while the use of Tournai stone will be studied in the context of architecture and sculpture.
Earlier and more distant examples will be addressed with tin as a geostrategic metal in the Near East in the 2nd millennium BC, and the case of Carrara marble from antiquity to the present day.
This half-day study session will be followed by an exhibition of scientific posters produced by students from the Master Génie Civil Architectural et Urbain, the Master Ingénierie Numérique Collaborative pour la Construction, and the Master Patrimoine et Ressources Territoriales, as part of the joint seminar "Patrimoine et résilience".
