Grief des Dames literary concert
Grief des Dames is a literary concert that rings out the too-often muted, if not muffled, voice of philosopher Marie de Gournay (1565-1645).
The show's title is borrowed from one of Marie de Gournay's most combative works, Le Grief des Dames (1626). This work claims a simple and fundamental freedom: the freedom for women to express themselves unhindered by the contempt of certain men. It conveys both humanist confidence in the power of dialogue and indignation that women are excluded from it.
A staging carried by an actress and sublimated by live music: theorbo, lute and song.
