En revenir" symposium - Investigative gestures in the field of contemporary art
Wednesday, February 05, 2025
This colloquium proposes to examine the gestures of inquiry in art, with the interdisciplinary character that this assumes, in order to define its specificities and its modalities in creation. We see it as a laboratory of forms and a space for shifting, plastic exchanges based on two axes: returning to investigation, and returningfrom investigation. Starting with an inventory of investigative gestures in the field of contemporary art, we will then question its methods and tools, confronting them in particular with those of journalism, anthropology, sociology, literature, cinema... These different perspectives will lead us to consider survey narratives (in their written form, or installations, or performances) with a particular focus on the art of filming the survey and the figure of the investigator, when the field reverses itself, when the fieldreverses it.
The second part of the colloquium < will take place in Amiens in
