In the 1960s, living conditions and urban policies became an object of public concern and a political issue. In several European countries, residents, urban professionals, researchers and political activists were engaged in criticizing current modes of urban development, as well as working in the field to oppose them and build alternatives. The simultaneity or proximity in time of these urban social movements, and the similarities in their strategies, objectives and forms of protest, show the interest of approaching them not only from an international but also a transnational perspective. This study day is conceived as an initial phase of investigation into these circulations, intended as it were to map them, assess their scope and identify their modalities and traces.
