Pink October

Two days of prevention and solidarity on October 9 and 14.

Raising awareness of breast cancer prevention

Every year, Pink October serves as a reminder of the importance of screening for and preventing breast cancer, the leading cause of cancer-related death among women. This national mobilization takes on a particular resonance on our campuses: the Institut Sociétés et Humanités (ISH) is working alongside students to offer two major awareness-raising events, on Thursday October 9 and Tuesday October 14, 2025, on UPHF campuses.

Thursday, October 9 - Hall des Tertiales (8am to 12pm)

This morning's program:

  • Midwife: gynecological follow-up, breast and cervical cancer prevention, HPV vaccination information.

  • Dietician (9am-1pm): diet and cancer prevention, juice tasting in the colors of Pink October, health quiz.

  • Student Health Service (SSE): self-palpation demonstration on educational bust, appointment booking with health professionals, distribution of pink ribbons.

  • Association Jeunes et Roses: raising awareness and learning self-palpation gestures.

  • Student creative stands: ephemeral tattoos created by art students and "Pink October" ribbon in semi-permanent nail varnish (to be confirmed)

Tuesday, October 14 - UPHF Campus

  • Matisse building : 10am - 12:30pm

  • IIM building (IAE) : 1:30 - 4:00 pm

Events continue with:

  • Dietician in the morning, relay provided by HSE in the afternoon.

  • Association Jeunes et Roses: 3h slot (morning or afternoon)

  • SSE : self-palpation bust, appointment booking and awareness.

  • Don hair (10 cm natural or colored hair minimum) in partnership with the Saint-Saulve CFA and its apprentice hairdressers (subject to confirmation).

  • Student workshops: "Octobre Rose" ephemeral tattoos and varnish application.

A collective and united mobilization

Beyond the stands, these days are intended to be a time for exchange, prevention and solidarity, reminding us that every gesture counts: getting informed, learning about self-monitoring, adopting good lifestyle habits, but also providing symbolic or concrete support (wearing the pink ribbon, donating hair, etc.

By getting involved in Octobre Rose, ISH and UPHF are reaffirming their desire to put the health and well-being of students at the heart of their actions, in a spirit of prevention and civic commitment.

See you on October 9 and 14 on our campuses to take part in Octobre Rose and, together, advance breast cancer prevention.
