Sixteen apprentices from BUT Mechanical and Production Engineering had the opportunity to work with one of our partners in Portugal
.
With the aim of maintaining established relationships and developing new opportunities for educational exchanges, a week-long stay, organized by the IUT's Alternance department, took place at the Instituto Politécnico de Viseu (IPV), a partner establishment in the EUNICE alliance. Supervised by Sébastien Coupeaux, a teacher in the GMP department, the French apprentices were welcomed by Carlos Pereira, a teacher at IPV.
The week's program:
- Structural dimensioning course with Axisystem software, by LPI teacher Angéla Neves,
- tour of the workshop equipped with conventional and CNC turning and milling machines, bending machine, welding station,
- visit a virtual reality room,
- robotics course, demonstration of moving a part by an ABB robot,
- programming course, use of simulation software.
The students willingly got involved and communicated in English with their Portuguese counterparts, enriching their academic and cultural experience. The week ended with a convivial moment in a mountain restaurant followed by a visit to an automobile museum.😊
Thank you to the team at the Instituto Politécnico de Viseu for hosting our students!
