Isabelle Massa-Turpin unanimously re-elected for a second term as head of IUT

On May 15, the Board of the IUT, a training component of the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF), reaffirmed its confidence by unanimously electing Isabelle Massa-Turpin for a second five-year term as director of the IUT. A lecturer in mathematics at UPHF since 2012 and member of the CERAMATHS laboratory, she has taught at the IUT since 2003.

Assessment of first term of office

During her first term, Isabelle Massa-Turpin initiated numerous projects to strengthen the attractiveness and dynamism of the IUT.

• Improving the living environment with the development of communal living spaces and greener buildings, some of which are now energy self-sufficient thanks to solar panels.
• Development of a diversified training offering with 20 GOAL courses and the resumption of international mobility(ADIUT programs, partnerships with Vietnam and Indonesia, ...).
• Support for students with the creation of a fund dedicated to student initiative projects and the organization of jobdating for apprenticeships.
• Strengthening links with middle and high schools through the Cordées de la réussite program and the student ambassador network.
• Improving the quality of working life with the introduction of telecommuting, annual general meetings and ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure.
• Development of human resources with the recruitment of colleagues responsible for strengthening relations with companies, structuring an alumni network and driving pedagogical innovations and the ecological transition and sustainable development (TEDS).
• Support for teachers with requests for time off for research or educational projects.

Perspectives for the second term

With this second mandate, Isabelle Massa-Turpin intends to extend these dynamics and launch new structuring projects, drawing on the support of pedagogical teams that remain highly invested.

• Developing gateways to make it easier for our students to continue their studies at university.
• Strengthening collaborations between departments to encourage interdisciplinary projects.
• Diversification and enrichment of the training offer, notably with the implementation of a BUT Carrières Sociales in Maubeuge and short courses.
• Expand internship opportunities and strengthen links with the professional world.
• Financial support for the mobility of colleagues teachers assigned to higher education (ESAS) in doctoral programs.
• Consolidation of partnerships with the Rectorat and ARIUT.
• Strengthening the appeal of the Cambrai and Maubeuge branches.
• Optimized communication on social networks and in the press to increase the IUT's visibility.
