International opening in B.U.T. Computer Science
Testimony of Théo, on an internship in Hanoi (Vietnam)
Théo, a 2nd year student in B.U.T. Informatique on the Maubeuge campus, has completed his three-month internship in Vietnam, working for the IT company Silversea. Informatique on the Maubeuge campus, completed his 3-month internship in Vietnam, with the IT specialist company Silversea. This experience brought him a lot, both professionally and personally. During his internship, he worked on various projects, including the development of an application.
The internship gave me a lot of practical experience. I appreciated the constant support and trust the team showed me as a foreign intern. I was entrusted with the creation of the first phase of an application that is to be completed for nationwide use by law enforcement agencies.
Thanks to the guidance of my professional tutor, I learned to manage the pressure of a new and heavy workload, to take the customer's needs into account and to find the most efficient solutions to the problems that can arise during the course of a project.
In Hanoi, Théo developed his language skills by exchanging in English with his colleagues.
On a more personal level, I'm proud to have overcome the language barrier by taking up the language challenge: I spoke English with my Vietnamese colleagues. I'm a rather reserved person, and finding myself immersed in a foreign environment forced me to step out of my comfort zone.
For Théo, the internship is an opportunity to be seized and useful even if it can sometimes be stressful. The work experience enabled the student to make choices for his future career.
It's true that during this internship abroad, there were a few moments of doubt. But this opportunity offered by our training program is a chance to be seized, as it immerses us in a professional environment that enables us to confirm or deny our career choices.
