The CERAMATHS Mathematics Department seminar will welcome Eya Zougar (UPHF - CERAMATHS) at 2pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, for the following talk:
Spatial control of the evolution of composite materials by Stochastic PDEs
This presentation is based on a study of controlled stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) applied to composite materials with variable spatial properties. The objective is to determine the optimal control adjusting diffusivity in different regions. The study establishes the existence of mild solutions and derives necessary and sufficient conditions for optimality via the stochastic maximum principle. Two explicit examples illustrate the theoretical results and the calculation of optimal control for materials with piecewise diffusivity.
